For one month, starting Monday 29 April, Subiaco residents can purchase discounted native plants to promote water-wise options in residential gardens.
Planting native seedlings helps create an attractive, water-wise garden that supports native birds and butterflies.
By choosing to plant local native species, you are making a valuable contribution to enhancing and supporting biodiversity throughout our region.
With a generous layer of dieback-free mulch applied to the soil, local native plants require little water, fertiliser, or ongoing maintenance once established.
Between 29 April and 31 May residents can buy up to 80 plants at the subsidised price of $1.50 each.
To purchase your plants, visit the APACE Community Nursery with proof of residence (e.g. utilities bill) and photo ID (e.g. current drivers licence).
The Local Native Plant Subsidy is presented by the City of Subiaco in conjunction with the Western Suburbs Regional Organisation of Councils (WESROC). Due to the popularity of the scheme, availability is subject to a first-in basis.
APACE Community Nursery is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 3pm and 9am to 12pm on Saturdays for the subsidy period and closed on Sundays and public holidays.
