An application to develop the former Subiaco Pavilion Markets site was approved unanimously at a meeting of the Metro West Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP).
City of Subiaco Mayor Penny Taylor said it was the high-quality design combined with the community benefts that helped to get the development approved.
“The owners of the site and their architects have worked collaboratively with the Design Review Panel to achieve an outstanding mixed used development,” she said.
“It means that this iconic site will once again be something that everyone can enjoy.”
The plan for the site consists of three different buildings, the tallest of which will be 24 storeys. The buildings will incorporate apartments, offce, retail, a market hall, public open space in a new town square and a pocket park. Construction is expected to start later this year.
