From 25 February 2019, the Hamilton Street Bridge across the railway line in West Leederville will be closed by Main Roads so that the old timber bridge can be replaced with a new steel and concrete structure.
The bridge and adjacent principal shared path (PSP) will close to enable works to begin. The closures are necessary while the old bridge is removed and replaced to ensure public safety within the project area and adjacent to the live passenger railway network.
Road users will need to access Hamilton Street south of the railway line, Perth Modern and other facilities by using the posted detour routes – via Haydn Bunton Drive to the west or Loftus Street to the east – to move around the area. PSP users will be directed away from the existing railway reserve path to a detour using White Place and Subiaco Road and back to the PSP at Loftus Street.
This project is anticipated to be complete in September 2019. To receive project updates by email, visit www.mainroads.wa.gov.au. Should you have any queries related to the project, call Main Roads on 13 13 68 or email email@example.com.
