Summer in Subiaco looks good!
Wednesday 24 October 2018

See Subiaco is presenting another exciting summer of events and activations. Here are some of the highlights you can look forward to in 2019.

At a glance:

  • Fringe is coming to Subiaco
  • Subiaco Street Party is back!
  • Perth Festival and Perth Comedy Festival return
  • A new cycling event for Subi

The Subiaco Street Party will return in 2019 with food stalls, bars, local markets and carnival rides taking over Rokeby Road and Hay Street. The one-day event attracts up to 50 000 people with plenty of family-friendly activities, stage entertainment and local cuisine to sink your teeth into.

When summer heats up, Subiaco will sizzle as a new Fringe World Festival hub comes to the city. You can expect pop-up venues, roving performers, hidden treats down the laneways and Fringe shows across seven different venues.

See Subiaco will once again sponsor Perth Festival with 10 000 people expected to attend performances at the Regal Theatre throughout February. Thanks to the diverse hospitality offerings for meals, drinks and sweet treats in the town centre, local businesses can expect to share in half a million dollars of pre and post show expenditure.

Subiaco is a cycle city and in February The Ring, Super Crit Subiaco will hit our streets as part of WA cycling’s Summer Criterium Series. The inclusive event is open to amateur cyclists and kids with 200 racers expected to put their wheels to the road. A new wellness event is planned in Subiaco’s parks and gardens next autumn, focussing on nutrition, movement, mindfulness and mental health. And Perth Comedy Festival will return to The Regal Theatre in April with 70 laugh-out-loud performances and special offers at local restaurants and bars for ticketholders.

These exciting events are supported by See Subiaco event funding. In June this year, Council allocated $195 000 for events and activations that boost the local economy and draw large crowds into the town centre. To keep in the loop, follow See Subiaco on Facebook.
