Construction of the State Government’s new Inner City College on Kitchener Park is underway. As part of the construction, three street trees on Coghlan Road were required to be removed to create a safe student drop-off area. The trees, a Sugar Gum, Kurrajong and Flooded Gum will be re-purposed for future use.
The trees were professionally felled and harvested on Friday 31 August, and will now be dried and stored until they can be recycled. The State Government is considering how the trees will be repurposed in the school including interior applications like furniture and panelling features.
