Fortnightly comingled recycling from Monday 6 March
Friday 17 February 2017

As you may be aware, the City of Subiaco is moving to comingled recycling, collected fortnightly, in an effort to bring the service in line with Western Metropolitan Regional Councils (WMRC) and comply with Australian Standards.

As of Monday 6 March, there will no longer be a need to separate recyclable items – more advanced technology in recycling facilities has meant that machinery is now better able to sort recyclables, so the city’s waste trucks will now collect all recycling at the one time.

From Monday 6 March, residents and businesses are asked to place all recyclables in the bin with the yellow lid, with any overfow to go in the bin with the red lid. In time, these two 120-litre bins will be replaced with a 240-litre, yellow-topped bin to be used for all recycling.
