Jersey Street car station redevelopment
Friday 19 June 2015

The newly redeveloped Jersey Street car station will reopen next week, offering the city’s lowest all day parking fee at $1.20 per hour with a $4 daily maximum. Just a short walk from the town centre, the car station provides an additional parking to remove congestion within the centre of Subiaco.

The redevelopment included the installation of a stormwater bio-filter in the base of the car park. The bio-filter system uses native plants to remove pollutants and nutrients from stormwater, clean the water before feeding it into the nearby Mabel Talbot wetland.

In addition, protection zones have been established around a number of large mature trees are situated within the car park to maintain the long term health of the trees.

The city is continually working to improve the health and water quality of the two wetlands within the municipality and this project is an important step in this process. If you have any further questions or would like to know more about the environmental projects being undertaken, please contact the city on 9237 9222.
