The City of Subiaco is marking National Tree Day with a group planting session on Sunday 26 July.
National Tree Day is Australia’s largest community tree planting event, run by Planet Ark. This year's celebration represents twenty years of National Tree Day, connecting individuals with nature, beautifying the local neighbourhood and inspiring positive environmental change.
Volunteers are being called upon to meet next to Daglish Train Station, Railway Road, Daglish, to lend a hand in planting over 2000 native shrubs and trees along the railway line.
Refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of planting.
To raise awareness and celebrate National Tree Day, children who attended LEGO™ Club on July 7 at Subiaco Library were asked to build an urban forest out of LEGO™. Local schools have also been involved in National Tree Day celebrations.
