A major retail and office development being pitched at up to $100 million will join several other significant developments planned for Subiaco.
“We’re seeing a good retail mix emerge in the town centre, with several new hospitality and fashion businesses opening in recent months, and others looking to move to Subiaco,” Mayor Henderson said.
The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) this week approved the four-storey development on the corner of Station and Hood streets in Subiaco, which developer Greg Pearce says will include a Coles, Target and specialty shops.
The city understands that the Station Street Markets, which are located at the site, will continue to operate until June.
Mayor Henderson said a number of initiatives have been taken to foster additional market opportunities in Subiaco.
“The City of Subiaco is a great supporter of markets, from our partnership with the thriving weekly Subiaco Farmers Market to Venn Property Group’s Markets on Rokeby proposal, which the Council recently approved in principle.”
