Development approval application for former Pavillion Markets site

nullThe City of Subiaco has received an application for development approval at 10 Rokeby and 375 Roberts Road (former Pavilion Markets site). The site was previously the subject of a scheme amendment (Scheme Amendment No. 18) which was approved by the Minister for Planning in October 2014.

The proposal comprises the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a sixteen storey tower and podiums ranging in height from five to eight storeys. The proposed structure is separated into two components that are connected via a central pedestrian laneway. A brief summary of the proposal is provided below:

  • 350 car bays – one level of basement parking incorporating 147 car bays and eleven motorbike bays, and 203 car bays over five levels (first to sixth floors) contained in the central core of the building
  • 2563m² of ground floor commercial including 880m² of retail and 1703m² of food and beverage premises (restaurants, fast food outlets and small bar)
  • 292 residential apartments (48 studio apartments, 154 one bedroom apartments, 75 two bedroom apartments and 15 three bedroom apartments).

This application meets the criteria for a Development Assessment Panel application under Regulation 5 of the Planning and Development (Development Assessment Panels) Regulations 2011 and will be determined by the Metropolitan West Joint Development Assessment Panel.

The Development Assessment Panel (DAP) is an independent decision making body comprising independent technical experts and elected Local Government representatives. DAPs are able to determine certain development applications in the place of the original decision making authority, being the local government in this case.
