Business support

Nurturing and retaining local businesses is a priority for the City of Subiaco. If you are a local business owner or operator, you can access a number of business support initiatives that have been designed to help your business thrive.

Get help with local government processes

The City’s Business Development Officer is your point of contact with the City and can help guide you through local government processes. If you have not yet met the City’s Business Development Officer and would like to chat business over coffee or find out how the City can support you, contact ecodev@subiaco.wa.gov.au to make an appointment.

Apply for a small business grant

As a local business, you could be eligible for a small business grant up to the value of $5000. With a small business grant you will be connected to an industry specialist who will help you develop an action plan to meet your goals. The City will provide financial support to achieve selected actions from your plan and help you on your way.

Subscribe to the business e-newsletter

The City’s monthly business e-newsletter provides Subiaco businesses with important and useful information. It’s the most convenient way for you to keep in touch with the City. To stay informed, subscribe online or read previous editions of the e-newsletter.

See Subiaco destination marketing

See Subiaco is the town centre destination branding for the City of Subiaco. The See Subiaco brand promotes Subiaco as a vibrant, culturally rich destination to live, work and visit and may be a suitable platform to promote your business or offer. You can add your business, promotions and events to the See Subiaco website by claiming your business. See Subiaco also provides sponsorship for a range of eligible events throughout the year, which you can apply for.

Business Chat series

The City’s Business Chat series offers an opportunity for business owners to come together to learn and share in an informal and relaxed environment. These free sessions, which include a barista-made coffee for each attendee, will cover a range of business topics that are current and important to businesses including mindset matters, how to negotiate your lease and quick win marketing tips.

The first hour will be led by an experienced business advisor enabling business owners to have their questions answered face-to-face. The second hour provides business owners an opportunity to share their own business experiences, challenges and solutions in a roundtable discussion.

These sessions are held at Subiaco Arts Centre on the last Wednesday of each month except for the first session, Good for business, which takes place from 7.30am to 9.30am on Wednesday 4 December with free breakfast and goodie bags! Download the business chat calendar to find out more and book your place.

The City works in partnership with other organisations to deliver a variety of business skills training, workshops and events. Download the upcoming business skills calendar:
