Special Library event: Peter Holland & Four on Six present an evening of works by Shaun Tan
Peter Holland and Four on Six present an evening of works by Shaun Tan
Picture books are often inaccurately classified as “children’s literature”. Shaun Tan says he sees his book The Lost Thing very much as a fable about the problems of adulthood, and the tension between dreams and reality. Being great admirers of Shaun Tan, musicians Gillian and Charles (aka Four on Six) have always played with the idea of integrating their original music into some of his work.
With Peter Holland as narrator, they have devised a program featuring The Lost Thing and What Miscellaneous Abnormality Is That? The audience will also be taken on a ‘musical exploration’ of The Tea Party, Shaun Tan’s largest painted work, one of the two exquisite murals he painted for the Subiaco Library.
This event is suitable for families with primary school aged children and is part of Subiaco Library's Monday night event series and includes a light supper.
Bookings are required for both adults and children, book your free tickets here.
