Organising a public event

Event organisers should refer to the West Australian Government website to ensure they meet all mandatory requirements and follow any relevant COVID restrictions. Additional information is available on the Department of Health website.

Register your event with the Department of Health

The Department of Health recommends registering all events through the WA Health website, to ensure local emergency and health resources are made of aware of events that may impact on their resources. 

A public event includes fetes, concerts and outdoor music festivals, school concerts, carols, family day events, routine sporting events, non-competitive motor racing, State grand finals, equestrian events, extreme sports or an event with camping.

Hosting a Public Event

If you are organising a public event, approval must be obtained from the relevant branches of the City. Please review the City's event guide for information on how to submit an application to the relevant City branches.
