Nature Passport

Play, create, imagine and explore nature in the City of Subiaco with the Nature Passport. Explore six local parks and complete nature based activities – invent a scent, build a muddy sculpture or create leaf art!

Rediscover your local neighbourhood with a wildlife safari and 15 things to do outdoors. Suitable for all ages. The Nature Passport is available to collect from all City facilities or use the Nature Play WA App to get started right away!

Please subscribe to the Subiaco Family e-newsletter to be advised of upcoming workshops. Please note that Subiaco library has a comprehensive parenting collection. The City also works with the community to maintain the Subiaco Early Years Network, which holds quarterly meeting.

Programs for children

  • School holiday activities are organised at the library, Lords and other venues in the City. For details about these activities, check out the events calendar.
  • The Children’s Adventure Map helps you discover the rich history behind well-known landmarks. Explorers hunt for clues along the trail to spell out a secret password. you can also pick one up from Subiaco Library, Subiaco Museum, Subiaco Administration Centre, and Lords Recreation Centre. 
  • Subi Kids Crew (SKC) offers a unique opportunity for motivated children to develop their sense of civic responsibility and leadership, teamwork and communication skills. Members learn about local government and civic affairs. They attend sessions once a term, such as sustainable gardening, junior ranger training, art workshops, selecting library books and more! Applications to join are open year round. To be eligible, applicants must be aged between 7 and 11 years and live or attend school in the city. 

Subiaco Library services

  • Storytime is a story telling session for pre-schoolers, followed by a fun craft activity. Storytime is held on Tuesdays at 10.30am and repeated on Fridays at 10.30am during the school term. During school holidays, sessions are held on Fridays only.
  • Baby rhymetime is for parents and babies (aged two months to two years) and introduces fun ways of sharing nursery rhymes with your baby. Baby rhyme time is held at Subiaco Library on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10am. During school holidays, sessions are held on Mondays only. 
  • Children's book club. There are two book cub sessions - for kids aged six to eight years, and another for kids eight and older. Both sessions run monthly on Tuesdays from 3.30pm until 4pm. Members receive a ten per cent discount off book club reads at Dymocks Subiaco. To join email
  • Better Beginnings is an early literacy program coordinated by the State Library of Western Australia. It promotes reading, rhyming and talking to your baby. Residents with children aged one year and under can collect a free book and parent kit from Subiaco Library.
