Ageing Well Expo
Enjoy a fun, interactive and educational day at the City of Subiaco’s first ever Ageing Well Expo.
Where: Subiaco Community Centre, 203 Bagot Road, Subiaco
When: Tuesday 17 November, 9.30am – 3pm
Come along and listen to informative guest speakers such as renowned scientist and media personality Dr dingle, and visit exhibitions from eighteen key seniors’ agencies including Subiaco Community Care, the Alzheimer’s Association and Independent Living, to find out about the services available to you.
The Police Pipe Band, the Men in Harmony barbershop chorus and the Subiaco Primary School band will provide some lively entertainment, and complimentary refreshments and food samples will be provided by the city’s Meals on Wheels kitchen.

Community luncheons
Community lunches are held bi-monthly in the Subiaco Community Centre dining room. The lunches provide an opportunity for members of the community to get together on a regular basis and enjoy a delicious lunch at a reasonable cost. A three course lunch, including tea and coffee, is followed by live entertainment.
The community lunches are usually linked to celebrations such as Easter, Melbourne Cup and Christmas and the menus are designed to fit these themes.

When: At Subiaco lunch is served at 11.45 am followed by tea and coffee, entertainment starts at 1pm.
Occasional lunches are also held at Shenton Park Community Centre dining room and again, are designed to celebrate an event with a themed menu to match. These lunches are accompanied by live entertainment or a speaker.

Where: Shenton Park Community Centre (Onslow Road, Shenton Park).

When: At Shenton Park lunch is served at 12 noon and the entertainment or speaker commences at 1pm.
Bookings are essential for both dining rooms.
Lunch Club
The City’s Lunch Club is held in the alternate month to the community lunches at Subiaco Community Centre. The Lunch Club provides the community with the opportunity to meet new people, listen to some interesting speakers and enjoy a social lunch if they wish.

When: Free talks on a variety of topics begin at 11am. For those wishing to stay, a three course lunch is served at 12pm at a cost of $9.50 per person.

Seniors Walking Groups
The Seniors' Walking Group is an ongoing program to promote fitness and fun.
The walk's lead participants through Subiaco and surrounding areas over a distance of 2-3kms and last's for approximately 1 hour. The walking group operates weekly and alternates routes' to integrate the many interesting Subiaco features and landmark's.
Joining the walking group is a great way to maintain physical and social activity and appreciate the local environment.

Life-long learning
The City of Subiaco, supported by the Department for Local Government and Regional Development, provide introductory classes and workshops throughout the year for local residents over the age of fifty.
Lifelong learning classes are held at a number of venues across the City, including Subiaco Arts Centre, the Subiaco Library and the Subiaco Community Centre .The City also encourages residents to develop their own interest groups and can provide advice and assistance for community members wishing to start a group of their own.
