Young scientists show their creativity

Primary-aged children celebrated the theme of ‘innovation’ at three after-school sessions held at E H Parker (Subiaco) Library during Science Week last week.

Fun was had by more than sixty children, helped by some enthusiastic parents.

Everyone joined in the three workshops to build Lego tiny houses, make marble runs and use the LittleBits circuits to design vehicles, and craft some fabulous paper planes, helicopters and windmills.

The participants showed off their creativity, imagination and problem-solving skills during the activities, all while demonstrating their love of science.

The free events were held at Subiaco Library as part of National Science Week; Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology.

If you missed out on the Science Week festivities, don’t worry!

From Monday 21 August you can take part in Children’s Book Week and join in Subiaco Library’s scavenger hunt. Completed entries will go in the draw to win one of three book packs.
