A Subiaco business has taken out ‘New Restaurant of the Year’ at the 2024 West Australian Good Food Guide (WAGFG) Awards this week.
WAGFG is a highly-regarded guide to eating and drinking in the state, with a much-anticipated annual award event that celebrates the best venues across WA.
Subiaco’s Yiamas was crowned ‘New Restaurant of the Year’ after opening in March 2023, putting a modern spin on the traditional Greek taverna.
WAGFG also pulls together a top 100 list each year, on which, several Subiaco venues sit beside Yiamas including Dilly Dally, Lulu La Delizia, Shui, and Subi Continental.
Mayor David McMullen said strong representation on the top 100 list showed that Subiaco's food and drink scene is hitting full speed.
“We were recently named the most liveable place in Australia and now a number of our hospitality venues have been listed amongst some of the best in the state. The momentum just continues to build,” he said.
“Congratulations to all the local venues named in the 2024 WA Good Food Guide and awards. I look forward to seeing what new and established players continue to do, off the back of this latest positive boost for our City.”
