la dolce vita when Subi Spritz, a Southern European-inspired food and wine festival, returns to the streets of Subiaco in March 2023.
From March 10-19, Subiaco will come alive with more than 20 events, including long lunches, aperitivo trails, European wine tastings, cooking masterclasses, and much more.
Many local Subiaco venues will host events, including Juanitas, The Subiaco Hotel, Bark Bar, Dilly Dally, The Spirit of Little Things, Lums and La Condesa.
Mayor David McMullen said, “After a sell-out season last year, we’re very excited that Subi Spritz is returning to showcase Subiaco’s vibrant food and wine scene to locals and visitors alike.
“Subiaco’s bar and restaurant scene is pumping. Come along to a Subi Spritz event; and after having an inevitably great time, make plans to come back to Subi to do it all again year round.”
2023 Subi Spritz program highlights include:
- Conti Roll Contest – held at The Subiaco Hotel, this event sees Perth’s favourite continental roll makers go head-to-head to serve up the best conti. Attendees receive a drink on arrival, and samples of five conti rolls before casting their votes.
- Vino Alfresco – Some of WA’s best wine producers, including Green Door Wines, Amato Vino and South by South West take over Market Square Gardens for an afternoon of tastings. There will also be an Aperol pop-up bar, Spritz gelato, and DJs.
- The Long, Long Lunch – A Southern European feast prepared by some of WA’s best chefs under the leafy trees at Theatre Gardens. Chefs from Juanitas, Lalla Rookh, and Arimia Margaret River, as well as former Subiaco Hotel Head Chef Brad Burton, will each serve a course with European flair.
- A Little Aperitivo Hour – Enjoy an expertly crafted spritz, then watch La Delizia Latticini’s cheese-making demonstration. The rest of the evening includes spritz-inspired cocktails, a DJ, and Italian-inspired grazing platters and oysters.
