Corporate teams get resilient at Lords

Recently, Paralympian and keynote speaker Brant Garvey took to the courts of Lords Recreation Centre to challenge Perth-based corporate teams to his ‘Resilience Rumble’ program.

The program sees co-workers go head-to-head in wheelchair basketball matches over a five-week period.

The program helps build resilience, encourages inclusion, inspires motivation and grows empathy for all players involved. It also aims to help people recognise and learn more about the challenges that some face in their daily lives.

At the same time, the program helps Brant in his training efforts for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris!

The City of Subiaco’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2023-2028 (DAIP) was recently launched, and focuses on identifying key priorities and actions to ensure the City remains accessible, inclusive and welcome to all.

Read the City’s DAIP here, and if you’re looking for fun and impactful ways to help empower people within your workplace, get in touch with the Lords team via lords@subiaco.wa.gov.au.
