City to host free sustainability sundowner

The City of Subiaco will host a Sustainability Sundowner on Wednesday 21 February from 6pm to 9pm at Bob Hawke College.

This free event will focus on all things sustainable development and how it can benefit the local community. Complimentary drinks and canapes will be provided for all attendees.

The event celebrates the recent launch of the City’s new planning policy on sustainable development, which is a first in Western Australia.

It will also feature presentations from two key sustainability experts, Sid Thoo (Green Gurus) and Jimmy Thompson (MJA Studio), who will share valuable information for the community on how to improve sustainability outcomes in existing and new homes.

A brief panel discussion will follow with questions from the floor, or attendees can submit panel questions prior to the event with their RSVP.

Mayor David McMullen said, “The City of Subiaco is leading the way with our innovative, WA-first policy approach to sustainable development. This event is the perfect opportunity to learn more about our new Local Planning Policy on Sustainable Development, and how sustainability measures can be incorporated into upgrades, renovations, and new builds across our City.”

“Sustainability is a key priority for the City and our local community; and as a result of this policy, we expect to see developments that will feature more sustainable design and better environmental outcomes.”

RSVPs for the event are essential.

This event is proudly sponsored by Rise Urban.
