City’s Reflect RAP endorsed by Council

At its Ordinary Council Meeting on 22 November 2023, Council approved the City of Subiaco’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

The RAP supports the City in working towards reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including the creation of social and economic opportunities, with the aim of enabling the City to become a more welcoming, inclusive, respectful and connected place.

Mayor David McMullen said, “I commend City staff for their efforts in developing the Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, which formalises the City of Subiaco’s commitment to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

"Work of the kind that has gone into this RAP all helps creating an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming place for people of every cultural background.”

Now it has been endorsed by Council, the Reflect RAP will incorporate procured artwork by Aboriginal artist Dana Garlett from Paperbark Prints, undergo graphic design services, and be submitted to Reconciliation Australia for formal endorsement.

The City’s Reflect RAP will be publicly available following this formal endorsement in 2024.
