Centro Ave closed due to burst watermain

Water Corporation attended a sinkhole last night on Centro Avenue caused by a burst watermain. 

The incident meant there was some localised flooding but Water Corporation has been working urgently overnight to repair the damage, and restore power and water to affected properties.

Once Water Corporation has undertaken the works, they will reinstate the footpath and parking bay that was damaged, and ensure the road is safe before reopening it to traffic. This is expected to be later today (Monday 19 September).

Thankfully, no-one was hurt. 

Pedestrians can still use the footpath on the other side of Centro Avenue at this stage.
