A grand celebration of Subiaco arrives this April

A new 10-day event series, Celebrate Subi, is set to showcase the best of Subiaco this April, highlighting hidden gems and inviting locals and visitors alike to discover a full program of events across the City.

An evolution of the one-day Subi Street Party, Celebrate Subi will see pop-up spaces, live art and music, heritage walking tours, laneway activations, wellness sessions in the park, a block party, workshops, classes and so much more take place over the ten days.

Program highlights include the Subi Cocktail Trail (Saturday 17 April) where some of Subi’s finest mixologists will serve up their signature cocktails with enticing drink specials all evening. Expect to see favourites such as The Subi Hotel and Old Values, as well as pop-ups like Blacklist Coffee Roasters.

Doggo’s Day Out (Saturday 10 April) will see Market Square Park come alive with agility courses, a dog fashion parade, specialty stalls and lots of dog-friendly fun.

For an insider’s look at Subiaco’s hidden stories, heritage and highlights, Two Feet & a Heartbeat will be running specialty guided walking tours on 10 and 17 April.

Subiaco Mayor Penny Taylor said this event would showcase the best of Subiaco experiences, places and businesses, while uncovering a few local secrets for everyone to enjoy.

“Celebrate Subi is a natural evolution of the Subiaco Street Party, turning a one-day event into 10-days of festivity with a range of unique experiences to be found right across the City,” she said.

“There’s been a lot of uncertainty due to the pandemic and this series is a safer way to share our hidden gems, support the plethora of independent local businesses thriving here and celebrate our great community.”

Regal Theatre General Manager Kim Knight said: “I am very excited to be a part of the Celebrate Subi Festival to activate our town centre for the community, with plenty of reasons for people to visit Subiaco throughout the festival period.”

Celebrate Subi kicks off on Friday April 9 and runs until Sunday April 18.
