Applications for funding through the City of Subiaco’s Heritage Grants Fund are now open and owners of properties listed on the city’s heritage register or located within a recognised conservation area are encouraged to apply.
The city’s Heritage Grants Fund provides support to property owners looking to undertake conservation works which contribute to the retention and enhancement of Subiaco’s built heritage.
The inaugural round of funding, which was awarded earlier this year, assisted the owners of 8 Kershaw Street, Subiaco to remove render and re-instate tuck-pointing to the front facade to reveal the original state of the property.
Mayor Heather Henderson said: “Our built heritage plays such an important role in remembering and celebrating the history of Subiaco. This fund has been established to support members of our community who are interested in preserving Subiaco’s unique built form for the enjoyment of future generations.”
“The success of the recent works at 8 Kershaw Street, demonstrate that even small conservation works can greatly enhance and reveal the heritage significance of a property.”
The city offers two rounds of applications per financial year. Applicants may be eligible for up to 50 per cent of the total cost of the works, to a maximum of $5000.
Applications close Friday 19 September 2014 at 5pm. Visit the Heritage news page for more information or to download an application form. Alternatively, contact the city on 9237 9222.
