New play equipment, specifically designed for children under five years of age, has been installed at Lake Jualbup next to the existing senior play equipment.
It has already proven to be a hit, with many children enjoying the play equipment every day since installation.
The new equipment was chosen thanks to feedback from local parents and playground users on the play elements that were the most important and what was required for parents to supervise their children safely and effectively.
Survey results showed the most popular play activities were sliding, swinging, climbing, hiding-in and balancing. This information was given to the play equipment supplier to guide development of two suitable playground proposals.
Mayor Henderson said: “The city would like to thank everyone who submitted their feedback or voted for a design.
“This project was primarily driven by the community and the passion and enthusiasm from all those involved has resulted in the excellent outcome we see today.”
